Project’s fifth transnational meeting was organized between 22-26 February 2016, in A Coruña, Spain.

First day was dedicated to project management issues such as reports and documentation of activities, costs, and dissemination initiatives as well as discussions about intellectual outputs which were already completed.

Workshop, organized in January 18-19, 2016, Warsaw, Poland

Xlibris Methodology tested at Warsaw University on 18-19 January 2016. Ten university librarians participated in the workshops to learn about Xlibris Methodology for service co-design. Developing new literacy skills was the main focus of the workshop. Xlibris Methodology was discussed in detail for possible use in further strategic partnership project applications.

Eco-Library Webinar, organized by Varna Public Library in November 11, 2015

On November 11th, Public Library – Varna organized a webinar called ‘Eco-Library’ as a part of the X-Libris project activities. More than 25 participants from small libraries and different organizations from Bulgaria attended to the event (see the list). The webinar ‘Eco-Library’ is one of the 5 Smart ICT  services developed at Varna meeting in July 2015.During the webinar there was a training session explains ‘How to promote libraries in Pinterest’.  A presentation giving some ideas how to use Pinterest, how to create a board and how it can be used for libraries needs was given. An example: a board presenting some  herbs from Varna region was shown.

The presentation raised a lot of question which turns into a discussion. A challenge to the participants was given – to created at least one board and present it at the next webinar in 3 weeks. The whole duration of the webinar was 1.5 h.

Workshop, organized in October 26, 28, 29, 2015, Radviliskis, Lithuania

A three days training was organized by Radviliškis District Municipality Educational and Sport Service Centre for primary and secondary school teachers in the same district. Seventeen teachers from different branches participated in the workshops. The aim of the training was to encourage teachers to use social media tools (smart ICT 3.0) in their classes to create new learning spaces.  Participants have been introduced a wide range of tools and platforms, they have explored how these tools can be used for educational purposes. Best practices were also demonstrated.

Workshop, organized in October 22, 2015, Tallinn, Estonia

A workshop titled Go Green and Keep the Earth Clean was organized on the green libraries theme at the  ECIL2015 Conference (Abstracts).  ECIL2015 held between 19-22 October 2015, at Tallinn University in Tallinn, Estonia. The workshop is organized on 22nd October (http://ecil2015.ilconf.org/documents/ecil2015_final_programme.pdf). More than 300 participants from more than 50 countries participated in the conference. Presentation at a National Round Table, 13 October 2015, Sofia, Bulgaria

A National round table under the theme ‘Information Literacy in a Digital Age – Where are We?’ was held on  13 October 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria. More than 60 librarians from different public and  university libraries attended to the event. Emil Demirev presented X-Libris project talking about the possibility to develop new library services using X-Libris methodology in the context of the information literacy. The event was organized by Bulgarian Library and Information Association.

Series of Workshops on Innovative Service Design

XLIBRIS offers a series of workshops at Paris Descartes University, Paris, France between 14-15 October 2015:

Branding Workshop: In this workshop, participants will prototype branding services and campaigns for cultural institutions (3 hours. 14 October 2015, 09:30-12:30. Maximum capacity: 30 people).

Greening Workshop: In this workshop, participants will prototype green services and/or greening campaigns for cultural institutions (14 October 2015, 14:00-17:00. Maximum capacity: 30 people).

Redesigning Library Services Workshop: In this workshop, participants will prototype a new library service on social media and will use gamification concept (15 October 2015, 09:30-12:30. Maximum capacity: 20 people).

Project Design Workshop: In this workshop, participants will prototype a library oriented project (15 October 2015, 14:00-17:00. Maximum capacity: 20 people).

Shelfie Book

Within the scope of X-LIBRIS Project, Hacettepe University Department of
Information Management has organized an International Shelfie Competition.

Selected shelfies, selfies in front of library shelves,, have been exhibited at Paris Decartes University in Paris, France in May 2015 and Kadir Has Information Center in Istanbul, Turkey, in June 2015.
